This year's New Year holiday is particularly long. After the big and small visits to the new year and the elders, we can finally enjoy a leisurely and comfortable life arrangement. We can watch the long-standing film chasing films and take a long-time overseas trip with close family members. However, with the end of the annual leave, many people feel that they are under great pressure and do not want to go to work, and feel flustered and depressed. Sometimes, they may feel dizzy, have a bad appetite and sleep.
Before the end of a continuous holiday or when we start work, we often hear people around us complaining about their inability to lift up their energy, tiredness, headache, abdominal pain, weakness and other physical symptoms, and even some people continue to be anxious and depressed and feel resistant to work. This is the so-called post vacation syndrome (PVS).
Ji Yujun, a clinical psychologist at the center for holistic community prevention and mental health, points out that when we change from a comfortable, relaxed and colorful lifestyle to a state of stress, especially when we expect to face a tired and distressed workplace, such a big contrast will inevitably lead to loss and depression. So how can we reduce these uncomfortable feelings? Ji Yujun provides three methods for your reference
Adjust work and rest - it is recommended to gradually adjust to the original work and rest habits a few days before returning to work to avoid staying up late. Try not to use 3C products one hour before going to bed, so that the physiological clock gradually returns to the rhythm of work. For example: people who get up at 9 o'clock during the holiday but need to get up at 7 o'clock usually get up at 8:45 in advance, and then adjust 15 minutes each time.
Organize the environment - rooms that are in disorder during holidays, suitcases and souvenirs that are still left behind when you come back from a trip. You may as well arrange some time to wash clothes and tidy up the room. You can also let your heart settle down through the process of goods returning. At the same time, you should prepare the things needed for work, so as to avoid rushing to work in a hurry and affect your mood.
Plan your work schedule ahead of time - sometimes, when you think that there are so many things waiting for us to do, you will want to procrastinate and evade. You can try to make a to-do list, work out a work plan, and organize your thoughts. At the same time, it will also prompt the brain to turn on; and give priority to setting achievable goals, so that we can accumulate confidence and sense of achievement, and enhance our motivation to continue to complete tasks. In addition, some relaxation activities can be arranged in the middle of the work schedule, such as getting up from the seat to make coffee, chatting with colleagues for a few minutes, simply stretching, etc., which will help to improve efficiency.
